Helen BetGivargis is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York, and received her B.A in Biology minoring in Chemistry from CCSU.
Helen has over 20-years of research experience in Western Medicine working in the endocrine infertility Lab at UCONN and later became an IVF Embryologist in their IVF program for over 15 years. These experiences ultimately laid the groundwork for integrating Eastern and Western Medicine particularly in the field of treating Fertility patients. She also studies with Randine Lewis the author of "The Fertility Cure" and a leading expert in Chinese Medicine and Fertility for over 6 years, and continues her training and specialty in Fertility by attending the yearly Integrative Fertility Symposium in Vancouver.
Helen is passionate about food as medicine and over the past 20 years has been studying various healing diets from cutting edge experts in the field from perspective of new bio-molecular science to ancient healing foods. Putting it all together and coming to this simple yet complex point, that we are each a unique and special laboratory, that food is information, we are what we eat, the closer we eat from mother earth the better our vitality is, and with some guidance, we can learn about what works best to upgrade our bodies.
In addition to integrating acupuncture and science, Helen draws upon her many years of experience in the past 20 years of Chi-gong, TaiChi and various styles of Breath-work, Heart Center Meditation, MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), Guided Imagery, affirmations, meridian tapping/EFT, Reiki and Therapeutic Touch (TT), and various energy healings as well as the use of essential oils, FET, and using sound vibration as healing on acupuncture points to upgrade your treatments.
Since 2007 Helen has been participating in 5-spirit Alchemical Acupuncture mentorship with Lori Dechar and Benjamin Fox, an integration of classical Five Element Chinese medicine and Western Depth Psychology and Astrology. This trainings is rooted in Taoist principles and Psycho-Spiritual alchemy. In this style all of our disharmonies are looked as an opportunity to grow consciously on a deeper level into our wholeness, and stop sleep walking without a purpose in life.
Helen's goal in her practice is to create a nourishing and comfortable environment and space for healing to take place for each patient. As is believed in Chinese Medicine that by creating balance in the body, using the wisdom of this ancient medicine, the body's healing capacity is sparked into working optimally. And that we each are wired with that healing capacity.
In her spare time Helen loves to walk and commune in nature, garden, dance and whirl the universal love through Dance of Oneness, read every science book on quantum physics and food as medicine and prepare food like an alchemist, draw, calligraphy and recite Rumi's poetry.
Helen grew up in northwest corner of Iran called Azerbaijan to Assyrian parents who were descendants of one of the oldest nations who were the Christians. Helen's maternal Grandmother Deena was a skilled Medicine woman in her village of Babari where she treated anything from infections to infertility.
